Welcome to Acoustic'n'That

Do you love the zing of slide guitar? The deep bass end hum of harmonica? Or perhaps the steady stomp of a heavy boot on a wooden floor as it powers the singer to an encore? Well then you're already in good company!

Acoustic 'n That is a monthly music night that is all about giving a platform to a new generation of emerging artists and bringing contemporary acoustic music (folk, roots, blues, world and wonderful instrumentals) to Waggers, Ware! Ah yes... a place to network, meet other musicans, keep your ear to the ground AND hear some of the best acoustic music around.

Held on the first Friday of every month, we feature one headline act and provide an 'open floor' for musicians wishing to take a 3 song slot between 7.30 and 9pm (sign up is in advance and by email only). For all enquiries contact Angie & Will.

Please note - we have moved from the Hertford Corn Exchange to Waggers, Ware. See Location page for more details.

Next Performance - Friday 9th July

Local music club Acoustic ‘n’ That will be raising the roof at Waggers in Ware on the 9th of July to celebrate the end of their successful summer season. A special treat is in treat for music lovers as headliner Philip Henry brings his guitar magic to Ware straight off the back of his much awaited performance at this year's Glastonbury Festival.

Phillip Henry is a figurehead for the next generation of English slide guitarists and is fast becoming recognised as one of the finest players England has produced. His repertoire includes arrangements of traditional melodies of the British Isles, songs, as well as some extraordinary harmonica playing. His compositions and arrangements have been featured a number of times on BBC Radio Three’s Late Junction programme. In more recent years he has become fascinated with the Indian classical slide guitar and his solo show features performances on the Chatturangui, the 22 string Indian slide guitar.

As part of the night’s music celebration, local musicians from Play Something will be kicking the evening off with a special set of acoustic music, followed by support from guitar duo Oka Vanga.
